Job Summary:
The Head of Information Technology (IT) is responsible for managing and overseeing all IT operations within the Microfinance Bank (MFB). This includes hardware and software management, cybersecurity, banking software systems, and digital banking suites such as mobile and internet banking. The role requires leading the IT team, ensuring the security of bank data, developing and implementing IT strategies, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The Head of IT will also play a key role in ensuring smooth communication between IT operations and executive management through timely and accurate reporting. The Ideal candidate must be willing to live and work in Anambra State.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee all IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, networks, and data centers.
- Lead the procurement, installation, and maintenance of hardware and software systems.
- Develop, implement, and monitor robust cybersecurity policies and procedures to protect the bank’s IT assets.
- Conduct regular vulnerability testing and risk assessments to identify and mitigate security threats.
- Ensure compliance with CBN, financial sector regulations, including data protection standards.
- Oversee the implementation, management, and troubleshooting of banking software systems, including core banking applications.
- Ensure the smooth operation of digital banking platforms such as mobile banking, internet banking, and USSD systems.
- Lead and mentor the IT team, fostering a collaborative and results-driven working environment.
- Work closely with regulatory bodies and external auditors, providing necessary reports and engaging in discussions.
- Prepare and present accurate and timely IT reports for management and the board, highlighting risks, opportunities, and performance metrics.
- Identify and implement innovative IT solutions to enhance operational efficiency and customer experience.
- Champion the bank’s digital transformation strategy by leveraging new technologies and platforms.
- Develop and maintain business continuity and disaster recovery plans for IT infrastructure and systems.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) and similar are required.
- Must have a clear understanding of digital banking suites such as mobile banking Internet banking and USSD
- At least 3-5 years of experience in IT roles, with 2-3 years in a management or leadership position, preferably within a financial institution.
- Strong proficiency in software management and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with banking software systems and digital banking solutions (mobile banking, internet banking, USSD).
- Expertise in cybersecurity, including risk assessments and vulnerability testing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and other software packages.
