About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Intellectual Property, Data Protection & Privacy Lawyer to provide expert legal guidance on IP rights, data privacy compliance, and regulatory frameworks in Nigeria. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in intellectual property law, data protection regulations, and privacy compliance, ensuring organizations adhere to legal requirements while protecting their assets.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise clients on intellectual property rights, including trademarks, copyrights, patents, and trade secrets.
• Draft, review, and negotiate IP licensing agreements, NDAs, and data-sharing contracts.
• Ensure compliance with Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA), GDPR, and other relevant privacy laws.
• Conduct privacy impact assessments and provide legal strategies for data governance.
• Represent clients in IP disputes, domain name conflicts, and data breach litigations.
• Develop internal data protection policies and train stakeholders on IP and privacy best practices.
• Stay updated on emerging trends in IP, data protection, and privacy law to provide proactive legal counsel.

Requirements

• LL.B. & Call to Bar (Law degree from a recognized institution).
• 3+ years experience in intellectual property, data protection, and privacy law.
• Strong knowledge of NDPA, GDPR, and Nigerian IP laws.
• Proven expertise in IP filings, trademarks, copyright law, and data protection frameworks.
• Excellent contract drafting, negotiation, and legal advisory skills.
• Ability to interpret and apply global privacy regulations to local and multinational operations.
• Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
