Job Summary

• We are looking for a talented News Content Writer to contribute to our newsroom.
• This role involves researching, writing, and producing compelling news articles across various beats to inform and captivate our audience.

Responsibilities

• Write concise, accurate, and engaging news stories for publication in our newspaper and on our digital platforms.
• Stay informed about local, national, and international news developments and pitch timely story ideas.
• Conduct interviews with sources and gather information to support your reporting.
• Collaborate with editors, reporters, and photographers to coordinate coverage of events and breaking news.
• Adhere to editorial guidelines, standards, and deadlines to ensure high-quality content.
• Monitor audience engagement and feedback to refine content strategies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proven experience as a news writer or journalist, preferably in a newspaper or digital news environment.
• Familiarity with AP style, journalistic principles, and ethical standards.
• Proficiency in digital content management systems and social media platforms.
• Strong writing and storytelling skills with an ability to craft compelling narratives under deadline pressure.
• Excellent research skills and ability to verify information from multiple sources.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced newsroom environment.

Salary

• N45,000 - N50,000 monthly.
