Responsibilities

  • Attend to all Import shipping documentation (Air & Sea) activities.
  • Global import logistics cargo planning and liaison {Air & Sea} with foreign suppliers/manufacturers/forwarders at origin to delivery in company-approved facilities in Nigeria.
  • Ensure proper guidance in International Shipping matters to all parties, and ensure Forwarding and Shipping arrangements, are in line with best practices and optimum efficiency.
  • Advise and ensure strict compliance on Shipping documentation (Air & Sea) requirements and procedures in line with international and Nigerian Standard shipping policies.
  • Ensure timely pre-alert documentations are received from source.
  • Participate in developing shipping strategy in co-operation with other members of the transit team taking into account the eventual synergy plans on dedicated projects.
  • Propose improvement and generation of the shipping section procedures and policies to the Manager.
  • Ensure maintenance of the Database for tracking all shipments.
  • Monitor shipping trends on the international scene.
  • Ensure proper regularization, amendment/correction are effected on pre-alert documents by forwarders/foreign suppliers before approval is given and cargo is shipped from source.
  • Properly collate all necessary and complete set of received and approved import shipping (Air and Sea) documents and forward application to Government approved Inspection agencies for RAR approval/issuance.
    Liaison with various Government agencies for import/export activities where required.
  • Data analysis and reporting.
  • Prepare weekly /monthly reports as appropriate.
  • Carry out any other duties that may be assigned by the Hierarchy

Profile

  • A graduate of any Social Science discipline with at least 4 years of experience in international trade/shipping in similar activities.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Good computing software skills.
