Job Position: Supply Chain Specialist

Job Summary


  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and optimizing the end-to-end supply chain operations to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and timely delivery of products, coordinate with suppliers, manage inventory, and analyze supply chain performance to drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Procures materials, equipment, and spare parts for the company and shipment of same. This includes identifying and ordering the proper quantity, negotiating pricing and shipment terms with suppliers, vendors, or freight forwarders and overseeing the timely delivery of materials needed to fulfill production needs.
  • Maintain adequate order planning, scheduling and receipt of shipments of raw materials, office and production consumables & spare parts. Will be required to physically receive and organize collection of shipments.
  • Must assess current orders and forecast future demand to ensure the provision of adequate supplies. When something significant changes in the supply chain and demand, he/she is responsible for responding to these changes in demand and solving any supply chain problems that arise. Must communicate regularly with internal customers to avoid unforeseen changes or surprises in orders. Monitors forecasts to identify changes in trends and determine their effect on supply chain activities.
  • Must input and process all orders. Of particular importance is the completion and submission of all necessary documentation from both suppliers and internal customers. They also oversee the initiation of the supplier payment processing and paperwork.
  • Meet with suppliers to discuss performance metrics and to provide performance feedback 
  • Collaborate with production, maintenance, and quality assurance departments, to identify or qualify new suppliers.
  • Monitor supplier performance to assess the ability to meet quality and delivery requirements
  • Appraise vendor manufacturing/production ability through on-site visits, assessment and measurements.
  • Implement procedures or systems to evaluate or select suppliers and analyze information about supplier performance.
  • Generally, control spending and build a culture of long-term saving on purchasing costs.

Educational & Professional Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain and logistics
