Technical Facility Maintenances Officer

??Role Summary

The post holder will be responsible for providing efficient and effective support to the Administration Department by ensuring the general appearance of the building surrounding, equipment and appliances are maintained in accordance with ITEXS standard.

Key Duties and Responsibilities


  • Carry out checks every morning to ensure all offices, drainages and surroundings have been properly and adequately cleaned by the janitors.
  • Cleaning the of all Air conditioner vents every 2 weeks
  • Daily checks on appliances and equipment to ensure they are in perfect working condition. (Air Conditioners, switches, sockets Refrigerators)
  • Track and record usage of the power generating sets to know when they are due for servicing and arrange for servicing with the contractors.
  • Supervise the monitoring and tracking of diesel usage and arrange for supply as and when due.
  • Perform basic tasks including painting and fling crevices and managing maintenance repairs.
  • Perform minor repairs on equipment or appliances.
  • Responsible for supervising all planned preventative maintenance in the office.
  • Detect and report the need for major maintenance repairs and supervise any repair work done by any contractor/Vendor.
  • Cary out minor plumbing including unblocking sinks gutters and drains etc.
  • Carry out minor electrical repairs, fittings, and installations.
  • Regularly check work areas as well as external areas for any potential danger to staff and report same to the Admin Manager
  • Ensure the water filtration system is working optimally and liaise with the contractor for any maintenance or repair work that needs to be done.
  • Supervise replacement of the small water filtration candle every 2 weeks and the big one monthly.
  • Track usage of maintenance supplies and ensure prompt requisition for supplies.
  • Ensure there is light in all three phases of electricity and report promptly to the admin manager when there is failure in any of the phases.

Educational Qualifications and Role Requirements

  • BSC or HND Iin Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Proven experience as a Technical Maintenance Officer.
  • Experience with hardware tools and electrical equipment
  • Solid understanding of technical aspects of plumbing, carpentry, electrical systems and water treatment.
