Job Location: Lagos


Job Description

  • Required to fulfil the responsibilities of an employee as specified in ILF-NGR Health and Safety Management System Plan 
  • Design and implementation of all necessary additional procedures required at all levels to enable the successful supervision, and management of the construction activities. 
  • Manage construction efforts and be the construction representative of PMC with Client. 
  • To plan, develop and organize construction effort to formulate the most cost-effective plan for timely completion within budget and to implement the execution of that plan. 
  • Management of PMC construction personnel and other persons and/or entities reporting to him. 
  • Provide input to project management and scheduling of all contractors, ensuring quality, schedule, pricing, and all other contractual obligations are maintained in a compliant manner. 
  • Physically inspecting all works during construction to ensure quality and compliance with plans, specifications, safety, health, environmental and quality standards are maintained. 
  • Defines the detailed construction plan in collaboration with the Project Management Team. 
  • Collaborates and participates with the Design team in the verification of the Design with particular regards to construction feasibility & constructability aspects. 
  • Responsible for implementation of the scope of work as related to installation design, construction/ fabrication, pre-commissioning, load-out and offshore installation hook-up, offshore pre-commissioning and commissioning of the FPSO in conformance with project specifications, Scope of Work, and in accordance with the approved Project Schedule. 
  • Monitor and report to Project Manager Project details, including progress, risks and opportunities in a timely manner. 
  • Ensures all changes to specifications, work scope and drawings are documented 
  • Collaborates with PM to review man-hours and duration forecasts to completion for construction activities. 
  • Monitors the progress and observance of deadlines. Collaborates with the PM to identify and apply any corrective actions necessary for limiting deviations from estimates. 
  • Monitor construction productivity and schedule performance and investigate reasons for less than satisfactory performance. Provide recommendations and institute measures for improvement by modification to operating procedures/work instructions. 
  • Adhere to Company Safety Standards and promote safety culture among the ranks throughout the Company. 
  • Aids the PM in managing disputes with Vendors, Contractors and third parties. 
  • Ensures the correct application of the quality control plans, work safety provisions and measures. 
  • Prepare and maintain documentations on construction. 
  • Attend all company-organized training courses when invited. 
  • To perform all tasks/ activities relevant to the Company, assigned by Management as required.

Qualifications
Educational Qualifications:

  • Minimum of B.Sc / B.Eng. level in Engineering.
  • A Master’s Degree is an added advantage.
  • Offshore, Subsea certifications are advantages.

Experience:

  • Managerial Experience: Minimum of 8 years.
  • Technical Experience: Minimum 18 years of experience strictly in Oil & Gas Engineering

Competency Requirements:

  • Engineering background (Mechanical / Structural / Subsea).
  • Must possess advanced construction experience in offshore structures and/or submarine pipeline installation projects.
