Job Position: Electro Mechanical Engineer
Job Location: Lagos

Responsibilities

• Provide electro mechanical engineering services to develop and implement our ongoing paperboard mill production company.
• Assist operations and maintenance with technical analyses and designs to improve existing processes and equipment. Manage project work to be in compliance with environmental and safety regulations. Use engineering standards and specifications in the design and construction of projects.

Safety:

• Execute capital projects and other significant facility changes/improvements while impacting safety in the facility in a positive manner
• Ensure safety is designed into all equipment additions and modifications
• Ensure that equipment installations are completed in a safe manner and that property safety reviews are conducted and loss control risks are addressed

Capital Project Execution:

• Development and execute capital projects to:
  • Support strategic initiatives
  • Reduce costs
  • Sustain and improve operations from a safety, reliability and environmental standpoint
• Execute capital projects ensuring successful achievement of facility objectives
• Abide by the spirit of all identified industry safety guidelines, mandates, regulations and laws
• Influence project execution and activity to support spending targets
• Manage 3rd party engineering as utilized to expedite the paper mill project initiatives
• Support the development and implementation of cost improvement plans and programs that ensure a profitable manufacturing facility
• Include energy and cost effectiveness in design of all equipment additions and modifications
• Provide technical support as needed to facilitate the safety and success of other mill teams
• Provide maintenance support as needed

Engineering Design:

• Verify existing equipment layouts and dimensions of the paper mill
• Provide Engineering analysis during selection and optimization of equipment
• Assist with detailed design drawings for equipment installation
• Maintenance and Operational Assistance
• Provide technical assistance to trouble-shoot equipment and/or operating problems
• Research options and recommend solutions to resolve operating and/or maintenance issues
• Coordinate contractor’s activities for contracted-out maintenance work during equipment downtimes

Qualifications
Required education and related experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electro Mechanical Engineering required.
• Five (5) years applicable relevant engineering experience required in paperboard Mill installation
• Continuous improvement experience preferred
• Skills and Abilities (technical/professional skills, expertise and qualifications):
• Strong communication skills; experience with vendor interactions; ideally collaborating with others to help define needs, identify solutions and resolve problems
• Strong analytical skills to define problems and develop mechanical solutions to improve process/asset productivity/safety
• Strong mechanical aptitude, mathematical proficiency, and troubleshooting skills
• Self-motivated individual with take-charge attitude and an understanding of personnel management techniques
• Strong computer skills, incuding, but not limited to, a working knowledge of AutoCad, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Project
• Good verbal and written communication skills required.
• Excellent Planning and organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks.
