FEMALE NURSERY TEACHERS
We are a new private International School located in Jericho, Ibadan; offering the British Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum to infants, toddlers and pre-schoolers (up to age five)
We seek to employ experienced early years teachers.
NURSERY Teachers will be responsible for children within 15 months – 5 years age range.
- The preferred candidate must have a degree in education (B.Ed.) Childhood Education or related degree in Education. A Montessori qualification is an added advantage
- You must have a minimum of 4 years verifiable Early Years teaching experience
- Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum and experience of teaching phonics is desirable and an added advantage.
- Observation, planning and assessment skills are required to ensure the quality of learning is sustained
- You should be enthusiastic and confident in your abilities to engage children and extend their learning through play, enabling their emotional, social and educational development.
- You must be able to manage your own work load as well as able to meet set targets.
- You must be able to work outside regular office hours; including holidays and occasional weekends as the demand may be
- To complement your qualification and experience, you will come with patience, a good sense of humour and great stamina to keep up with the needs and energy of a large group of young, lively children
- Creative skills such as music, dance, drama, arts and crafts are also advantageous
- You must have excellent English Language skills (clear written and spoken) along with good reading, writing and numeracy skills.
- As you will be observing and recording children's growth and development using electronic portfolios, you are required to have a good level of computer literacy.
Responsibilities and duties:
- Planning and presenting lessons that are fun and educational for the children in accordance with the curriculum
- Collaborating with other teachers to ensure that the school fosters a safe, home-like environment that is inviting and nurturing for every child
- Liaising with and meeting with parents, in order to promote our ‘Parent/Teacher Partnership’
- Managing day-to-day classroom activities, including structured lessons, free play, bathroom breaks, lunch time and rest time for the children
- Observing, assessing and recording children’s progress using electronic portfolios
- Ensuring the health and safety of children and staff is maintained during all activities, both inside and outside of the school
