Moment for Women Alliance is a registered women and girls' rights organization dedicated to advancing the human right of young women and girls in Nigeria. Since founded, we have positioned ourselves to secure protection for women and girls' rights, end gender-based violence, and access to health with the focus on sexual and reproductive health services, policy advocacy & inclusive governance.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Position: Finance Officer
Job Location: Sango Ota, Ogun
Employment Type: Full Time
Job Description
- The Finance Officer will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities, including budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance.
- This role requires a strong background in finance and accounting, excellent analytical skills, and a keen eye for detail. The ideal candidate will ensure our financial practices are sound, transparent, and aligned with our strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage annual budgets in collaboration with senior management.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and forecasts.
- Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Coordinate with external auditors and prepare for audits.
- Manage cash flow and oversee investment activities.
- Monitor financial performance against budget and report variances.
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and organizational policies.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
- Implement and maintain effective internal controls and procedures.
- Provide financial advice and insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Collaborate with program managers to ensure financial alignment with project goals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance / Accounting, or a related field. CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
- Minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience in finance or accounting roles.
- Previous experience working with a non-governmental organization (NGO) is required.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Strong knowledge of financial management, accounting principles, and regulations.
- Proficiency in financial software and tools (e.g., QuickBooks, Excel).
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
