We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Position: General Manager, Operations
Job Location: Idi-Oro, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

• The GM Operations is responsible for the successful initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, controlling, and closure of projects. This role encompasses all aspects of the company’s project work areas, including engineering, procurement and construction (Fabrication & Installation).

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the successful delivery of all projects, ensuring adherence to budget, schedule, and quality standards.
• Lead the team efficiently with a winning mindset.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities to drive company growth and expansion.
• Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential areas for diversification.
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, regulatory bodies, and community representatives.
• Implement best practices in project management to optimize efficiency and mitigate risks.
• Improve client relationships throughout the excellent project delivery.
• Drive initiatives to enhance productivity, streamline processes, and improve overall efficiency.
• Oversee all project-related operational activities, including procurement, production, quality control, logistics, and maintenance.
• Promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
• Oversee contract negotiations and ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
• Develop and implement resource planning strategies to meet project demands.

Requirements

• Minimum of a B.Eng. or equivalent in a relevant Engineering Field.
• Minimum of 15 years of experience (with at least 5 years in a managerial position)
• MSc / MBA is an advantage.
• A blend of technical expertise, managerial skills, industry knowledge, and strategic vision.
• Experience in leading setting goals, and driving performance improvements.
• Fundamental project management skills
• Good leadership skill
• Great communication skills combined with a high emotional intelligence
• Expert knowledge of cost and risk management.
