We are recruiting to fill the following position below:

1.) Account Officer

Job Location: Lagos

Position Overview


  • As an Account Officer at Heckerbella Limited, you will play a key role in maintaining the company's financial integrity. 
  • Your responsibilities will include posting daily transactions into our accounting software (QuickBooks), managing the books of account, filing monthly statutory returns, preparing management accounts, and providing support to the administration department. 
  • You will work closely with the Finance Manager and other departments to ensure smooth financial operations and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Post daily financial transactions accurately into QuickBooks accounting software.
  • Maintain proper books of account in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.
  • Prepare and file monthly statutory returns, including tax filings and compliance reports, within the required deadlines.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly management accounts, ensuring accurate reporting of financial performance.
  • Support the administration department with any financial queries or reporting needs.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Reconcile bank statements and accounts regularly to ensure accurate records. Manage accounts payable and receivable functions.
  • Assist in the preparation for annual audits and liaise with external auditors as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and internal policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Finance Manager, CEO or senior management.

Qualifications and Skills

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional accounting certification (e.g., ACA, ACCA) is a plus.
  • Proven experience in accounting or finance roles.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks or other accounting software.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

2.) Communications Officer

Job Location: Lagos

Description
As the RTA Community and Communications Officer, you will be part of a dynamic team with a mandate to:

  • Cater to the evolving needs of our Angel investor and entrepreneur community across various industries in the African ecosystem.
  • You will be critical in facilitating communication and engagement between RTA's back office, its members, its start-up network and its audience. 
  • You will also ensure that all RTA members and stakeholders receive timely and relevant information while managing member feedback and engagement.
  • To work with the complexities of network perspectives and relationships in supportive ways. 80% of your responsibilities would be dedicated to RTA community and network management, and 20% to communication and media management. 
  • The successful candidate would liaise with the RTA back-office in the execution of our Goals and Objectives.

Responsibilities
Community and Network Management:

  • Collaborate with the membership pillar to onboard new members into the Rising Tide Africa community.
  • Offer thought partnership in strategic conversations, advance key network initiatives, and effectively navigate the politics and protocols within the ecosystem the RTA network is influencing.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all RTA members, responding to inquiries and feedback promptly and professionally.
  • Develop and implement strategies to engage and retain RTA members, including organizing meetups, webinars, and other community events.
  • Monitor and analyze member engagement metrics to identify areas for improvement and develop targeted initiatives to increase engagement.
  • Collaborate with RTA's leadership team and other staff members to develop and execute marketing and communications strategies.
  • Work with RTA's operations team to identify and address member needs, including troubleshooting technical issues and responding to customer service inquiries.

Communication and Media Management:

  • Disseminate information about RTA's activities, events, and programs to members via email, social media, and other channels.
  • Collaborate with the RTA back-office to ensure a cohesive brand message across all channels.
  • Manage RTA's social media presence, including creating and curating content, responding to comments and messages, monitoring analytics, and executing a social media strategy that aligns with the company's overall marketing goals.

3.) Executive Secretary

Job Location: Lagos

Responsibilities
The Executive Secretary is expected to :

  • Constantly develops, implements and maintains RTA's networking, communication and promotional plans after approval by the Exco Team/Executive Committee.
  • Coordinates the identification and recruitment of new members, ensures that the RTA achieves a high percentage of annual Membership renewals, and ensures active Member participation during all meetings.
  • Presents internally selected early stage investment opportunities at RTA screening meetings, dry runs or deal days and communicates RTA decisions to the respective investment candidates
  • Develops and maintains relationships with complementary investors like other Angel groups, Venture Capital firms, Private Equity firms, and investment banks for potential RTA collaboration with these firms or follow?on investments requirements.
  • Creates and maintains a database of all RTA Members and keeps track of all related investment activity in the RTA database, ensuring that all RTA data is up-to-date, secure and readily accessible and retrievable.
  • Effectively manages the RTA Funds set up and activities.
  • In conjunction with the Media Team, directs the development, utilisation and optimisation of the RTA website to ensure that the website contents are regularly updated for adequate website visitor engagement.
  • In conjunction with any appointed professional, coordinates the financial due diligence process including valuation, cash flow projections, other financial documentation including income statements, balance sheets and financial projections for all selected investment portfolio.
  • Maintains regular contact, with each RTA funded company and ensures that invested entities adhere to all RTA guidelines and requirements of the network.
  • Proactively interprets and coordinates all follow?up funding requirements for RTA investments.
  • Oversees the design and annual scheduling of all RTA meetings and/or events approved by the Exco team/committee.
  • Will responsible for overseeing all of the RTA budgets and financial reporting, Filing of yearly Returns and all Regulatory & Corporate Affairs requirements.
  • Researches into and maintains all leading Angel investment industry best practices.
  • Periodically benchmarks RTA against other Angel networks to ensure that the RTA ranks among the best in Africa.
  • Plans, executes and manages all RTA events, in line with the four pillars of RTA - Organizing and overseeing all the processes of the RTA master class for entrepreneurs and investors, mentor classes, and deal days.
  • Initiates and coordinates all RTA Executive Committee Meetings.
  • Represents the RTA at stakeholders/partners meetings and events and takes adequate minutes at those meetings for onward and timely delivery of the minutes of meetings to the executive committee.
