Job Position: Offshore Surveyor

Job Location: Lagos (Onshore / Offshore)

Job Summary


  • We are currently seeking an experienced and proactive Offshore Surveyor for our client to take on a permanent supervisory position within their Survey & Geospatial Operations Team.
  • The role requires flexibility to work both onshore and offshore and includes project management responsibilities, overseeing a portfolio of geophysical and hydrographic survey projects from planning through execution.

Accountabilities

  • Supervise and coordinate onshore and offshore survey operations, ensuring high-quality data acquisition and reporting.
  • Lead teams in the use of equipment such as GNSS, USBL, multibeam echosounders, side-scan sonar, and sub-bottom profilers.
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and closeout of multiple survey projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to client specifications.
  • Interface with internal departments, clients, and subcontractors to manage expectations, resources, and logistics.
  • Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, environmental, and quality standards across all projects.
  • Mentor junior survey staff and ensure compliance with company procedures and industry best practices

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geomatics, Hydrography, Geophysics, Surveying, or a related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in offshore/onshore survey operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or project management role.
  • Proficient in survey software (e.g., QINSy, EIVA, Hypack, Caris) and data processing techniques.
  • Valid offshore medical (OGUK), BOSIET/FOET, and other required offshore certifications.
  • Strong leadership, planning, and communication skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving.Familiarity with asset integrity, pipeline inspection, or subsea construction support surveys.
