Supervises: Security Supervisor, Security Analyst

Job Purpose


  • The Corporate Security Manager is responsible for implementing strategic vision and operational aspects of security management for Oando Group Plc.
  • The Corporate Security Manager is responsible for evaluating risks and threats to the Group and ensuring that appropriate actions are taken to mitigate the risk, including terrorism.
  • He/ She is also responsible for implementing security policies and procedures through security personnel within the Group

Main Responsibility Area
Essential Function:

  • Responsible for operational aspects of security management for Oando Group Plc.
  • Responsible for evaluating risks and threats to the Group and ensuring that appropriate actions are taken to mitigate the risk.
  • Responsible for the Group’s operations, information, physical, personnel, technical and cyber security in all locations, offices, residences, guest houses, terminals, facilities, platforms, equipment, pipelines.
  • Implement all approved Corporate Security Policies, Procedures and risk & vulnerability audit recommendations for Oando Group Plc.
  • Maintain excellent working relationship including operational and administrative contacts with Government security agencies.
  • Initiate, facilitate, and promote activities to foster information Security awareness. Monitor internal control systems to ensure that appropriate information access levels and security clearances are maintained
  • Develop and conduct training on personnel security awareness, education & communications for all to all employees, contractors, alliances, and other third parties
  • Supervises the issuance of Access Control Authorization.
  • Ensures that Security Operations Centres (Control Rooms) are fully functional.
  • Coordinate Emergency Operations Centre activities relating to security during an emergency and is a member of the Emergency Response Team.
  • Evaluate threats to the company’s image and physical property and implement necessary actions to mitigate the risk.
  • Coordination of executive protection and travel advisories. Review all travels and manage safety strategies related to moderate and high risk locations.

Non-Essential Function:

  • Recommend protection measures.
  • Maintain a deep knowledge of the markets and industry of the company
  • Provide subject matter expertise and guidance on security policies, standards and procedures
  • Develop and administer security programmes to guard against theft, vandalism, violence, or other threats against the Group or its employees.

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Effectiveness in managing risks and proactive in proffering solutions to any security threats to lives and property.
  • Effectiveness in getting intelligence report and usage.
  • Sustained level of engagement providing security results
  • Solution developed reducing security issues
  • Ability to motivate supervised staff to accomplish goals & increase productivity
  • Timely dissemination of security information.

Job Specifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Science or Security related studies
  • Minimum of 12 years of related working experience
  • Master’s Degree or specialized courses in Security, Intelligence, Criminology or similar qualification
  • Affiliation to professional bodies such as ASIS International Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Physical Security Professional (PSP) will be an added advantage.
