About the Role

  • The Social Media Associate manages Kora’s social presence end to end — from strategy to execution.
  • You will use social platforms to educate businesses, drive demand for Kora’s products and strengthen the brand across Africa and global markets.
  • You will collaborate with Brand & Product Marketing, Communications, Merchant Success, Design and Performance Marketing to ensure content is consistent, accurate and effective.
  • Your work increases visibility, product understanding and inbound demand.

Key Responsibilities
Social Strategy and Execution:

  • Manage social media channels end to end including strategy, planning, content creation and publishing.
  • Develop platform-specific plans for LinkedIn, X, Instagram and YouTube.
  • Maintain a consistent posting rhythm across all platforms.
  • Ensure all content aligns with Kora’s brand identity and messaging.

Product Education and Adoption:

  • Turn product updates and feature information received from the Communications Associate into clear social content.
  • Create simple explanations for API capabilities, payment flows and new features.
  • Produce educational content that drives interest, trust and product adoption.

Content Creation:

  • Create high-quality posts, graphics, carousels and short videos tailored to each platform.
  • Humanise the brand through team stories, community highlights and customer insights.
  • Repurpose blog posts, case studies, events and reports into social-friendly formats.
  • Work with Brand & Product Marketing to ensure messaging consistency.

Growth and Campaign Execution:

  • Launch social-led campaigns that support demand generation, events and product promotions.
  • Collaborate with Performance Marketing on paid social campaigns and retargeting.
  • Test new content formats and creative approaches to improve reach and engagement.

Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Track KPIs including reach, engagement, clicks, traffic and conversions.
  • Monitor sentiment and identify emerging trends or risks.
  • Provide regular performance insights and recommendations to the Marketing Lead.

Compliance and Risk Awareness:

  • Ensure social content follows internal compliance and communication guidelines.
  • Maintain accuracy when referencing products, features and merchant information.

Requirements
What You Will Need:

  • 1–3 years of experience in social media management or digital content creation.
  • Strong writing and visual communication skills.
  • Ability to simplify complex fintech topics into engaging content.
  • Experience creating videos, graphics and platform-specific content.
  • Understanding of social analytics and reporting.
  • Familiarity with demand-generation content and social trends.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and content calendars.
  • Collaborative mindset and curiosity about fintech and payments.
