Job Position: Quality Control Specialist
Job Location: Lagos
Job Summary
- The Quality Control Specialist is responsible for ensuring that our products meet high standards of quality, safety, and consistency.
- This role involves monitoring production processes, performing regular quality checks, and collaborating with staff to maintain our reputation for exceptional gelato. A commitment to food safety, product excellence, and customer satisfaction is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Assurance and Inspections:
- Conduct routine inspections of raw materials, ingredients, and finishedproducts to ensure quality standards.
- Verify that products meet specifications for taste, texture, and appearance, as well as regulatory and company standards.
Production Process Monitoring:
- Oversee production processes, ensuring all standard operating procedures (SOPs) are followed precisely.
- Work closely with production staff to identify and resolve quality issues as they arise.
- Ensure that equipment is sanitized and operating correctly according to hygiene and safety standards.
Hygiene and Food Safety Compliance:
- Enforce hygiene and safety standards within the organisation, including the handling and storage of ingredients and tools.
- Conduct regular audits and checks to ensure compliance with local food safety regulations.
- Train staff on hygiene, food handling, and quality control procedures as needed.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of quality checks, testing, and any deviations from quality standards.
- Report findings to management and provide recommendations for process improvements.
- Assist in the development of quality control policies and SOPs to enhance product quality and efficiency.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify areas for improvement in the production and quality control processes and work with the team to implement changes.
- Stay updated on industry standards, quality control technologies, and best practices in food production.
Qualifications
- Experience in food quality control or a similar role
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and quality control practices.
- Attention to detail, with strong observational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
